Children from the Stirling High School learning community primary schools have been invited to join a Columba 1400 Digital Leadership Academy.
Columba 1400 is an award-winning charitable social enterprise based in Scotland. The purpose of the organisation is to help young people realise that they already possess the inner greatness and confidence to steer their own lives. We provide young people with a safe space in which they can discover their own values and how these can support them when making personal and life choices. Allowing them to feel confident in their own ability to make positive decisions. The Columban values-based approach builds a sense of trust through our warmth of welcome, warmth of hospitality, and the sense of a shared journey by getting alongside the young people, inspiring and believing in every individual. Supporting positive peer relationships as we work together.
Young people are working and collaborating with schools across the learning community. The Digital Leadership Academy is a blended model of delivery that will see young people utilise the latest technology as well as having the time and space to explore values based leadership in their classroom. Columba1400’s Digital Leadership Academy offers the opportunity for young people to step back and reflect on their values and what is import to them, their family, school and community. The purpose of the Digital Leadership Academy is for young people to develop as values based leaders who will offer service to their community by leading a project for the benefit of others, which will be revisited in S1 when the young people join Stirling High School. Young people will develop as leaders during their P7 and be prepared to make the transition into High School. As young people progress through the Leadership Academy they will build stronger relationships with their peers and increase their confidence.
